2009 HBA Parade of Homes:
Mueller Development Luxury Home Gets First Class Master Vanity
The 2009 HBA Parade of Homes took place in the Mueller Development and featured 5 homes from top architects and custom home builders. In the center was a luxury home designed by Architecture 365 and built by Bill Taute Homes. The interior designer, Next Level Austin wanted to make a big statement with the master bath. The centerpiece of which was a complex casting with multiple levels and twin custom cast ramp style sinks. Much of the countertop is 4 inches thick and was to be supported only by a wall hung cabinet that floated above the floor.
Conventional concrete would have torn the cabinet cleanly off the wall. However, using Newbold Stone's exclusive Eco-Lite concrete, the countertop weighed less than 300 pounds and maintained over 75 percent recycled content. That can be important when the house is to be a 5-star rated green home.
