Residential Kitchen:

Mid-Century Modern in Westlake

A home is not just a place to live; it is also an expression of the owner’s character and personality.  This client desired a work of art that harmonized with the unique traits of the rest of their home.

The mid century modern home featured floating, cantilevered surfaces and a host of right angles, all built of natural materials.  Newbold Stone collaborated with the owners to incorporate these ideas into their kitchen design.

The result is a dual-colored masterpiece that includes multiple intersecting seams with several intentional turns, fitting together like a puzzle to mirror the many angles of the home.  Two integral drain boards with natural erosion patterns contribute to the organic feel, while a cantilevered vertical section that skims the floor adds drama.  A small window in the concrete vertical and an integral bowl complete the composition.

This mid-century modern kitchen is an excellent example of a Newbold Stone Artisan Concrete installation whose personalized design and quality implementation delighted the homeowners.
