Residential Kitchen:
Golf Course Home Kitchen
In The Escondido, a new golf community near lake LBJ in the picturesque hill country, designer, Rachel Mast, opted for concrete countertops that would enhance the home’s rustic, mountain lodge character. Newbold Stone was selected due to our ability to meet the designer’s demands for rustic details and the implementation of a challenging structural design.
Situated at the end of an expansive great room, the kitchen design called for the eat-in bar top to span the full length of the center island, 11 feet in width. In order to accommodate the span, the piece was lightened with an internal cavity and re-supported with internal steel. The result was a seamless, dramatic, monolithic sheet with an apron front descending to the working counter height below.
Complementing the lodge-like feel, the designer requested edge details that resembled distressed wood framing. An exposed aggregate sink relief completed the feel.
Newbold Stone delivered on time and on budget for an installation which complements this rustic luxury home.
